The Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) is an advanced-technology research campus where academia, industry and government organizations engage in synergistic collaboration. One of the most critical components to CU-ICAR’s mission is to add value to companies to improve their competitive position. To this end, Clemson University has recently invested in a commercial-use laboratory and equipment that will offer component testing services to validate life-cycle durability. The initial offering of supplier testing services will include advanced solar simulation, environmental/climate testing and shaker/vibration testing. This component testing service compliments existing full vehicle testing and systems integration research available on campus. The Component Testing Laboratory is located in the Center for Emerging Technologies, adjacent to the Carroll A. Campbell Jr. Graduate Engineering Center.
